OUR AMERICAN DAYS
Through interviews and archive photos, “Our American Days” paints a portrait of everyday life in Trieste, Italy during the Allied Military Government (1945-1954). The protagonists, who at the time were just kids, recall playing baseball in the outskirts of town. Young women instead, were looking for jobs even if they only knew a few words in English – while big Studebakers and American flags were all around town. Trieste used to be black and white and suddenly, after the war, found itself absorbed in the colors of America and Swing.
