CAFFE' TRIESTE

This documentary tells about the historic Caffé Trieste in San Francisco through its founder Gianni Giotta’s eyes, words and life. This way, he recalls Trieste during the postwar period, and overall the birth of the new America. Caffè Trieste soon became a social and cultural center in North Beach, known for being the Italian neighborhood in San Francisco. It is where the main authors of the beat generation met in the Fifties and Sixties, and where Francis Ford Coppola wrote part of the screenplay for The Godfather.
